Ochaco Uraraka

Ochaco Uraraka, also known as Uravity , is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. She is one of the main protagonists of My Hero Academia. At first glance, Ochaco doesn't seem like one of the strongest combatants, but over the course of her time at U.A. High School, she has drastically improved her combat prowess to become a very capable combatant. Her abilities earned her 3rd place in the U.A. Entrance Exam, and 10th place in the Quirk Apprehension Test. Ochaco's main battle tactic consists of getting close to her opponent and using her Quirk, Zero Gravity, to directly affect them. This causes her targets to continuously float up and lose their footing, drastically inhibiting their fighting capabilities.

Ochaco also utilizes floating rubble as projectile attacks, or remove the weight of heavy structures, holding onto them to be used as improvised melee weapons. Ochaco can further use Zero Gravity to remove her own weight to increase her agility and create decoys by making objects levitate above the ground. Ochaco's overall abilities make her one of the strongest female students in her class. During the U.S.J. Incident, Ochaco was able to temporarily immobilize Kurogiri, a highly capable villain, thereby giving Hanta Sero and Rikido Sato an opening to subdue the villain even further. Ochaco has also proven her mettle at the U.A. Sports Festival, wherein she was pitted against Katsuki, one of the strongest students in Class 1-A. Despite having a disadvantage at close range, and knowing Katsuki's abilities far exceeded her own, Ochaco managed to catch him by surprise a few times during their battle, as well as pressure him into using his full power. Following the Sports Festival, she trained under the Battle Hero: Gunhead to improve her hand-to-hand combat skills, becoming an even more formidable individual. Ochaco also developed keen senses and quick reflexes, as she was able to discern when Himiko Toga was attempting to attack her and reacted quickly enough to dodge and pin the villain to the ground. Ochaco's abilities garnered the attention of Nejire Hado, the third strongest student of U.A. High School's Big 3, who recommended both Ochaco and Tsuyu to intern alongside her under the tutelage of Ryukyu, the No. 10 (formerly No. 9) Pro Hero. At the beginning the Shie Hassaikai Raid, the Ryukyu Squad acted as the first line of defense against Rikiya Katsukame of the Eight Bullets and were able to successfully subdue him. In the final round of the Joint Training Battle, Ochaco incapacitated the unpredictable Neito Monoma, having capitalized on the latter's attempt to replicate Izuku's Quirk. When an immobilized Neito attempted to use a copied Poltergeist to launch a metal pipe at Ochaco, her quick reflexes allowed her to effortlessly dodge the surprise attack. Afterward, Ochaco swiftly defeated both Reiko Yanagi and Yui Kodai, with a single attack each. Ochaco's Quirk gives her the power to nullify the effects of gravity on solid targets (living and nonliving) by touching them with the pads on her fingertips, causing them to become weightless and float. She is able to cancel the effect of her Quirk by touching her finger pads together. Her Quirk is good for restraint, as those affected are unlikely to fight back since they will keep floating upwards until they are released. Ochaco takes advantage of ravaged areas to gather wreckage while also exploiting the consequences of a destructive Quirk. She can easily clean up disaster zones while simultaneously figuring out the timing of her movements so as not to damage others. The main drawback of Ochaco's Quirk is that if the upper weight limit (around three tons) is exceeded, or if Ochaco floats herself, she will suffer from severe nausea. As part of her training, Ochaco considerably reduced resultant nausea and increased her weight limit, as well as developed her ability to float herself for short periods of time without becoming nauseous.

Shoto Todoroki

Shoto Todoroki, also known as Shoto, is the tritagonist of the My Hero Academia manga and anime series. Shoto's Quirk gives him the ability to generate ice from the right side of his body, and flames from his left side. Due to years of rejecting his father, Shoto has developed a habit of favoring ice, even when fire would be a better option. This grudge also caused him to have difficulty controlling his flames. While he is capable of using both elements simultaneously, he isn't used to doing this and still needs to practice dual-wielding. While training for his ultimate move, he claimed that using both abilities at the same time slows him down. If he overuses one element without utilizing the other, then his own body temperature will suffer; the ice half will cause frostbite and the fire half will cause heatstroke. Until his bodily limit is reached, however, neither has any visible effect on his body. Shoto can easily negate this weakness by alternating between ice and fire.

As part of his training, Shoto sat in a barrel of water and alternated between using ice and fire to regulate the temperature of the water. It helped his body become accustomed to the cold, and he learned better control over his flames. He is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, where he got in through official recommendations and is training to become a Pro Hero. He is the youngest son of Endeavor, the No. 1 (formerly No. 2) Hero. Having been trained by his father, Endeavor, at a young age, Shoto entered U.A. High School through recommendations, and has been established as one of the strongest students in Class 1-A. He earned 2nd place in both the Quirk Apprehension Test and U.A. Sports Festival. Shoto also has a great handle over his versatile and powerful Quirk, Half-Cold Half-Hot, which grants him incredible dual-element capabilities. Using the right side of his body, Shoto can drastically lower temperatures and freeze anything he touches, and generate ice that he can freely mold into numerous constructs that include ice waves that cover large areas, and ice barriers. Shoto also employs his cryokinetic abilities for mobility purposes, such as stacking ice shards behind his back to propel himself forward, glaciating the ground to skate on it, or his signature move, creating trails of ice on which he can surf. From the left side of his body, Shoto can eloquently increase thermokinetics and release scorching hot flames in the form of consuming streams or protective waves. Overall, Shoto has tremendous power, but because of past decisions and circumstances, such as his intentional neglect of one half of his Quirk, he has yet to reach his full potential. At the U.S.J., Shoto was able to easily overpower small-time villains at the Landslide Zone by himself, and later on showcased elite judgment, combat awareness, and athletic ability during the U.A. Sports Festival. At the festival, Shoto was able to neutralize a Villain Bot-Executor, defeat his swift classmates, Hanta Sero and Tenya Ida, as well as fight on par with Izuku Midoriya for a prolonged period of time to a nigh-draw. In his battle against Izuku, a fan claimed that Shoto was already stronger than the average Pro Hero. When he was pitted against Katsuki Bakugo in the final round of the Sports Festival, there was a chance Shoto could've won the match using his fire powers, but due to inner turmoil, he extinguished his inferno, leaving him open to Katsuki's "Howitzer Impact", and losing the match. Starting with the Hosu Incident, Shoto began the full embracement of his left side, as well as his pyro-cryogenic interchangeability, particularly when he, Izuku, and Tenya faced off against the Hero Killer: Stain. Following his run-in with the Hero Killer, Shoto is recognized as one of strongest students of Class 1-A, as noted by Pixie-Bob. While Shoto may possess full supremacy over his cryomancy, the control over his pyrokinesis was initially relatively inept, especially in comparison to that of Endeavor. However, after the third match of the Joint Training Battle, Shoto realized that he had disregarded his left side for too long, which had put him and his team at a disadvantage, and resolved to achieve greater mastery over his pyrokinetic abilities by learning the fundamentals of "Flashfire Fist", Endeavor's signature technique. Thanks to his internship, Shoto's handling over his left side has improved significantly, as he can now use his pyromancy in a new variety of ways, such as boosting his movement speed, launching himself through the air, and attacking with blaze-powered punches. And though Shoto is powerful, contending with individuals such as Stain, Wolfram, Moonfish, Mr. Compress, Gang Orca, Chimera, and Tomura Shigaraki require Shoto's effective camaraderie with multiple people in order to prevail against such formidable opponents. That was hardly the case during the climax of the Paranormal Liberation War, wherein he faced his brother Dabi in a battle of flames that nearly resulted in Shoto being burned alive, had it not been for Izuku's brief intervention. As the body-charring Todoroki brothers resumed their full-power pyromantic clash, Shoto ended up losing, but Dabi chose to spare his brother, as it would've been pointless to kill him without Endeavor watching. During Class A's mission to bring Izuku back to U.A. after he left following the events of the war, Shoto displayed an even greater mastery over his cryokinetic abilities. In particular, his control over the shape of his ice has become much more refined, being able to form a massive vertical pillar of ice with Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall, and even being able to create a smooth curved ramp without the need of a solid framework. Furthermore, he's shown the ability to use his signature move, Flashfreeze Heatwave, without needing to cool the air down first; now he can simply put his hands together and unleash the power of both sides at once to create the same effect.

Katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki Bakugo, also known as Kacchan by his childhood friends, and his hero name Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. He is the deuteragonist of the series. Katsuki has proven to be one of the strongest students in Class 1-A, earning third place in the Quirk Apprehension Test, while placing first in both the U.A. Entrance Exam, having the most villain points, and the U.A. Sports Festival. Katsuki's fighting style is an all-out offense, using his Quirk's propulsive abilities to close the distance between him and his opponents, followed by a bombardment of close-range attacks that often start with a powerful right hook. Katsuki is able to use his Explosion to propel himself through mid-air, blind opponents, and release long-range blasts, among other applications.

Explosion is a versatile Quirk, especially for battle situations, as the recoil caused by the blasts can be exploited by Katsuki for mobility purposes. During the U.S.J. Incident, Katsuki was able to single-handedly overpower and immobilize Kurogiri, a highly capable villain. At the U.A. Sports Festival, he was able to defeat Fumikage Tokoyami and Shoto Todoroki, who were considered the two other strongest students in Class 1-A at that point. Many notable Pro Heroes, such as Shota Aizawa and All Might, have praised Katsuki's prowess, noting the sheer amount of potential he carries. The League of Villains also took notice of Katsuki's strength and went as far as trying to kidnap him so he could be converted to their cause, even if it meant sacrificing members of the Vanguard Action Squad as his potential membership would have far exceeded the risk. Katsuki is strong enough to fight toe-to-toe and even overpower Izuku when he's using 5% of One For All. During the Joint Training Arc, Katsuki displayed that, despite the cold weather conditions of the winter season weakening his Quirk, he can still fight efficiently. Katsuki has also become slightly less insubordinate when paired with people and has developed a degree of camaraderie, as he utilizes his abilities to repel opponents that overpower his comrades. Not willing to let Izuku get ahead of him and never taking his intended goal of surpassing All Might lightly, Katsuki is always building up his power, improving his technique and looking forward to knowing what he is not able to do right now, with the intent of being able to do so in the future. Katsuki's unstoppable drive to win is perhaps his biggest strength, with all of his classmates, including Izuku, having faith in his ability to earn victories. By the time of the Paranormal Liberation Raid, Katsuki's overall abilities and proficiency have significantly increased, and he's even able to match the speed of Izuku using One For All at 30%. Katsuki's Quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from the palms of his hands and ignite it on command, allowing him to create strong explosions. The more Katsuki sweats, the stronger his explosions become. If Katsuki overuses this power, his forearms will start to ache. Katsuki has a strong grasp on the applications of his Quirk, something that was acknowledged by Best Jeanist, a top Pro Hero; not only can Katsuki use the explosions for attacking, he can also use them to propel himself and navigate through the air at high speeds, allowing him to fly at his opponents without giving them time to react, as well as evade incoming attacks, even while in the air. The shockwave from an explosion can even be used as a shield. Katsuki can keep up his explosions continuously, long enough to break through Eijiro's hardening Quirk and negate Shoto's "Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall" for a short while before being overwhelmed. As part of his training, Katsuki submerged his hands into boiling water to expand his sweat glands, then created chain explosions toward the sky to increase the scale of his attacks.

Izuku Midoriya

Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku is the main protagonist of the My Hero Academia manga and anime series. Even though Izuku was born Quirkless, he manages to catch the attention of the legendary hero All Might due to his innate heroism and a strong sense of justice, and has since become his close pupil, as well as a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School. All Might passed on his transferable Quirk to Izuku, making him the ninth holder of One For All. Following the Paranormal Liberation War, with Tomura Shigaraki and All For One actively targeting Izuku for his Quirk, he decides to leave U.A. before finishing his first year to keep his classmates out of harm's way. After encouragement from his friends, he later returns to the school and leads the heroes against the villains in one final, desperate battle to save the world. Izuku's greatest asset prior to receiving his Quirk was his vast knowledge of fundamental hero skills and tactics. Izuku studied Pro Heroes for years and is able to apply that knowledge during crisis situations in a practical manner. His immense bravery and desire to become a hero were also important factors in giving him the mentality to protect others. Before gaining his Quirk from All Might, he took on the Sludge Villain and rescued Katsuki because of his boldness and application of heroic skills, something that deeply impressed the No. 1 Hero. Upon training with All Might, Izuku inherited One For All from him and was granted the ability to harness a stockpile of powerful energy.

He can move faster than the eye can see and take down an enormous villain bot in a single punch, but the physical backlash at the time prevented Izuku from being able to fight properly or compete with his peers on an even playing field. Even so, he still possessed impressive physical durability, and his drive allowed him to withstand the drawbacks of One For All for the most part. Despite the intense drawbacks of One For All, Izuku's wits provide him with ways to use One For All that is still effective in battle. He also retains his ability to act instinctively based on his notes and possesses basic hand-to-hand combat knowledge. By applying those correctly, Izuku is able to fight toe-to-toe with even the strongest students of Class 1-A, such as Katsuki and Shoto. Under the tutelage of Gran Torino, Izuku acquired more control over One For All, leading to the creation of One For All: Full Cowl, a technique that would eventually become a key component of his fighting style. With Izuku gaining greatly enhanced maneuverability, strength, and a significant reduction in the physical backlash created when using his Quirk uncontrollably, he was able to drastically improve his overall fighting capabilities; his newly attained abilities garnered praise from Gran Torino, who noted that Izuku was on a higher level than he was compared to the Sports Festival. This specific improvement enabled Izuku to compete more closely with his classmates in the physical aspects of the Hero Course and even allows him to fight properly against top villains like the Hero Killer: Stain, who had single-handedly bested various Pro Heroes. As Izuku's mastery over his Quirk improves, so do his practical skills. Also, when his skills and experience increase, so does his confidence, which is said to be a source of inspiration to his classmates as well. His body, however, still remains relatively vulnerable to One For All's drawbacks, which gives Izuku a disadvantage against enemies like Muscular or Overhaul, whose Quirks were proven to be too powerful against One For All's weaker outputs, forcing scenarios where Izuku had to sacrifice his body in order to go all out. In order to protect his own body, particularly his arms, Izuku eventually develops his own unique fighting style, diverging himself further from All Might's. Currently, Izuku is acknowledged by his classmates as a strong, reliable, leading figure, with both his strength and intelligence being respected equally. However, Izuku's Quirk is still an enigma for them (including Izuku himself), which makes him an unpredictable ally for better or worse. As Izuku keeps growing, so does One For All, and with the prospect of having new abilities unlocked in the future, Izuku has to work even harder in order to fully dominate the Quirk that was passed to him. By the time of the Paranormal Liberation War, Izuku's skills have grown exponentially to the point that he is able to fight alongside exceptional Pro Heroes such as Eraser Head, Gran Torino, and even the current number one Pro Hero, Endeavor. But his biggest feat thus far is holding his own against the Grand Commander of the Liberation Front, Tomura Shigaraki, who is powered by All For One and a modified body with strength comparable to All Might, and forcing the all-powerful villain on the defensive despite the latter easily overpowering the top Pro Heroes. Following the aftermath of the Paranormal Liberation War, Izuku has displayed greater mastery over his Quirks and showcased the ability to easily outmaneuver his enemies with Blackwhip and 45% of One For All, detect danger without gaining sensory overload, prove En wrong by creating a new Super Move using Smokescreen, and easily alternate between his arsenal of Quirks in his fight with Lady Nagant. In his fight against Class 1-A, Izuku displayed himself to be easily capable of fighting on even terms with some of U.A. High School's most powerful students and was shown capable of completely dominating them even when severely outnumbered before succumbing to exhaustion and stress. One For All Transferred to him from Toshinori Yagi, Izuku's Quirk allows him to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, allowing him to significantly enhance all of his physical abilities to a superhuman level. This results in unbelievable levels of strength, speed, stamina, agility, and durability. Izuku can focus the stockpiled power into a single body part, or spread it across his entire body evenly, though, focusing the power in a single part puts a greater strain on that part of his body. He is also able to control what percentage of his full power that he uses. He is currently able to handle 45% of his full power without breaking his bones, with 30% being his normal output.[11] When Izuku activates One For All, red, vein-like lines course throughout the empowered part of his body. The Quirk factors of the previous power holders have merged with the core of One For All and have drastically increased in strength since. This grants Izuku the ability to access and utilize the Quirks of the previous holders of One For All. He can even use more than one of these assimilated Quirks at a time, granting him even more options in battle. Izuku also has access to a subconscious realm where vestiges of the consciousnesses of the previous One For All holders dwell. These vestiges can trigger Izuku to activate One For All without any conscious input from himself, as seen when he was under the control of Hitoshi's Brainwashing Quirk and illusionary shadows of these echoes appeared in his vision. Izuku currently has little to no control over this aspect of One For All, being unable to freely enter or exit, his body not being fully materialized, which limits his movement within the realm, and only being able to talk through muffled sounds since his mouth has not fully manifested yet. However, Izuku has reached the point where he can freely communicate with the vestiges of the previous users while still conscious. Izuku is the first holder of One For All known to have gained access to this realm while still alive.

All For One

All For One surname Shigaraki, is the overarching antagonist of the My Hero Academia manga and anime series. He is the founder and benefactor of the League of Villains. Once Japan's most powerful villain, and All Might's arch-nemesis, his full identity is unknown. His ultimate goal is to steal his little brother's Quirk, One For All, the only Quirk that can oppose him, shaping Tomura Shigaraki into the perfect vessel, before eventually conquering the rest of the world. He was imprisoned in Tartarus after his second defeat at All Might's hands until he escaped several months later, now single-mindedly focused on destroying the ninth wielder of One For All, Izuku Midoriya, to complete his centuries-long plan. All For One is Japan's most powerful villain. Thanks to the Life Force Quirk, All For One is virtually immortal, and has been active since the emergence of Quirks. He has collected numerous Quirks with an extensive range of applications and can combine them as he pleases.

This, along with his ability to steal any Quirk from his opponent makes All For One nigh impossible to defeat. The villain will employ any means necessary to hurt his opponent before killing them. Even in his prime, All For One easily defeated powerful Pro Heroes, making himself appear unequaled and unstoppable. The only individuals that can effectively oppose the Symbol of Evil are the inheritors of One For All, a Quirk All For One himself inadvertently created, and the only Quirk he can't steal (though he tried to steal it from Daigoro Banjo and En, twice). All For One sought each One For All user (excluding Hikage Shinomori), and easily killed them by overwhelming them with his barrage of Quirks. However, All For One was unable to steal One For All, nor prevent any of the users from passing the Quirk. Nevertheless, All For One remained unchallenged until the rise of All Might. All Might possessed the necessary strength to challenge All For One, and the two opponents fought a bloody duel. Although All Might sustained crippling injuries, he succeeded in defeating All For One, forcing the villain to rely on life support system. All For One uses his ultimate combination of Quirk to clash with All Might one final time. Six years later, despite losing all his senses and unable to recover from his injuries, All For One was far from weak. He single handedly overpowered Endeavor, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, Mt. Lady, and Gran Torino with little effort, as well as fight on par with All Might until the hero was exhausted out of his muscle form. With his ultimate Quirk combination, coupled with All Might's declining power, All For One nearly succeeded in killing All Might, but the latter summoned his willpower and used the last of his power to knock out the Symbol of Evil. All For One's Quirk allows him to steal other people's Quirks, leaving them Quirkless, and wield the Quirks as his own. All For One can also redistribute his stolen Quirks to other people. His multiple Quirks grant him a very wide variety of options in combat, and he can combine his stolen Quirks to create compound attacks with devastating effects. However, he cannot steal the original users' Quirk proficiency and is therefore limited by his own skill with his stolen powers. Because of this, he prefers to steal Quirks that rely on raw power, rather than ones that take practice and experience to master. While he can steal any Quirk, All For One's body cannot properly contain Quirks of newer generations, which is the reason why he sought Dr. Garaki's medical research. He also mentions having frequent nightmares where the consciousnesses of the people he stole Quirks from appear before him. Shortly before the Kamino Incident, his Quirk was duplicated by Doctor Garaki and the original version of it was given to Tomura, while All For One kept the copied version. A conscious vestige of All For One remains within the original Quirk and has the capabilities of overriding Tomura's will and control his body, though it is currently unaware how much of a connection the vestige and original All For One have to each other.

Shota Aizawa

Shota Aizawa, also known as the Erasure Hero: Eraser Head, is a Pro Hero and the homeroom teacher of U.A. High School's Class 1-A. Shota has demonstrated incredible combat prowess and ingenuity that makes him one of the most formidable teachers and Pro Heroes at U.A. High. Shota's usual battle tactic consists of canceling an opponent's Quirk and then using his Capturing Weapon in conjunction with his high agility to easily defeat or restrain his adversaries. Even without the aid of his Quirk, Shota relies on his proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, excelling in close quarters combat. His overall abilities make him a pivotal combatant in situations that involve his opponents being solely Quirk-reliant, and with the Erasure Hero creating openings by negating their powers in the midst of battle, him and his comrades are put into advantageous positions.

During the U.S.J. Incident, he effectively held his own against low-tier members of the League of Villains that surrounded and outnumbered the Erasure Hero, dozens to one. Shota evaded multiple attacks from opponents of various sizes and abilities before restraining them and sending them flying with calculated counter attacks. He was even able to nearly defeat Tomura Shigaraki, a highly capable villain before the U.S.J. Nomu intervened and overpowered the Erasure Hero. Other than Tomura, Shota can effectively fend off high-level villains such as Vanguard Action Squad members, Dabi and Himiko Toga, albeit with some difficulty. He also played vital roles during the Shie Hassaikai Raid and the Paranormal Liberation War, both of which involved large teams of heroes contending with high-class villains, with the latter spectacle involving the suppression of various High-End Nomus and Tomura's enhanced abilities. Erasure is Shota's Quirk gives him the ability to nullify another person's Quirk by looking at the user. The effects of this Quirk can still last even if Shota's line of vision is out of range. After sustaining grievous injuries at the U.S.J., Shota can't use his Quirk for as long and must rest longer between erasures. After losing one of his eyes in the Paranormal Liberation War, he has now almost completely lost the ability to use his Quirk. While powerful, this ability has many drawbacks: Erasure deactivates if Shota blinks. His Quirk gives Shota a bad dry eye, forcing him to blink more often when he uses the power continuously. Most Mutant-class Quirks are immune to Erasure. Erasure makes Shota's hair stand on end while it is active, allowing his enemies to see when his Quirk is active or not. This Quirk has no offensive potential. The Quirk Factor lies within Shota's eyes, so if one or both are damaged or destroyed, he cannot effectively use Erasure.

Toshinori Yagi

Toshinori Yagi also known as All Might , was the former No. 1 Pro Hero who bore the title of the world's Symbol of Peace. He teaches Foundational Hero Studies at U.A. High School. All Might was the eighth holder of the One For All Quirk after receiving it from Nana Shimura. He has since passed the torch to Izuku Midoriya, whom he is training to be his successor. After using up all the embers of One For All to defeat All For One, All Might retired and ended his era as the world's greatest hero. All Might was recognized as the greatest hero in the world. He was the "Symbol of Peace" and such a deterrent against crime that villains were largely discouraged by his presence in society, single-handedly bringing near-absolute stability throughout Japan, a stark contrast to the rest of the world. He was able to defeat All For One, infamously known as the world's most powerful villain, twice; a feat that all the previous wielders of One For All could not.

Despite winning however, All Might suffered a gruesome injury at the hands of All For One that limited his maximum power output going forward, gradually reducing his sheer might and how long he could use his power at all. Even after his Quirk's power was constrained by his injuries, All Might's strength and speed were unmatched. After he passed his Quirk onto Izuku, relying on the residual energy of One For All made his strength and time limit decrease more rapidly. Even so, All Might could still defeat villains on his own that groups of normal Pro Heroes struggled against. By pushing his power beyond its reasonable limits, All Might defeated Nomu, who was created specifically to kill him, with over 300 blows. Against Izuku and Katsuki, who are among Class 1-A's elites, he completely dominated them in their fight, even while wearing high-density weights. Forced to once again break the limiter placed on his Quirk, All Might defeated All For One by using up his remaining reserves of power. Even though he is unable to keep his hero form for more than a few seconds after his final battle with All For One, All Might still keeps a keen intuition and sharp reflexes, which helped him hone his skills as a hero ever since he acquired his powers. This is shown in his observations regarding Izuku's use of One For All, and the fact that he was capable of catching one of Mei Hatsume's "babies" coming in from behind with minimal effort in his true form. Despite his physique in his true form, he is actually quite physically able but isn't as efficient compared to when he is in his hero form. Usage of One For All requires the user to have strong muscles, as One For All is a lot to handle and could cause the user's body to be blown apart if they don't possess the necessary strength of body. Gran Torino said that All Might, in particular, had a strong body that allowed him to master One For All much faster than previous users. One For All Transferred to him from Nana Shimura, Toshinori's Quirk allowed him to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, allowing him to significantly enhance all of his physical abilities to a superhuman level. This resulted in unbelievable levels of strength, speed, agility, and durability. All Might was so proficient with One For All that he was widely known as the world's most powerful person. However, most of the known feats he performed are after he'd been grievously injured by All For One, and after he started the process of transferring One For All to Izuku, so the fullest extent of his abilities are mostly unknown.

Himiko Toga

Himiko Toga is a major antagonist of the My Hero Academia manga and anime series. She was a member of the League of Villains, affiliated with the Vanguard Action Squad, and later becoming one of the nine lieutenants of the Paranormal Liberation Front. She is featured as an antagonist in the Forest Training Camp Arc, Provisional Hero License Exam Arc, Shie Hassaikai Arc, and Paranormal Liberation War Arc. Himiko is a exceptionally talented and dangerous combatant who's not only capable of contending with Pro Heroes in close-quarters combat, but is a master of disguise, infiltration, and stealth, mostly due to her shapeshifting Quirk, Transform. With espionage being one of her most prominent traits, holding her breath and clearing her mind allows Himiko to erase her presence and allegedly vanish from her enemies' view. This ability isn't limited to ambushes, as it can be used in combat as well, disappearing if the opponent averts their attention from her, even for an instant. And despite lacking a Quirk that amplifies her combat abilities, Himiko effectively utilizes her incredible agility, reflexes, and acrobatic skills. She is also adept at creating openings to conceal herself, such as intentionally forcing an opponent to dodge.

During the Vanguard Action Squad Invasion, Himiko was able to ambush Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui, slightly injuring the former, before easily pinning the latter to a tree. Even though she was overpowered by Ochaco's Gunhead Martial Arts, Himiko was able to secure a blood sample from the Gravity Hero, release herself, and make a hasty retreat, due to the arrival of Izuku, Shoto Todoroki, and Mezo Shoji. Five minutes later, she nearly stabs a battle-worn Izuku twice while successfully tackling him to the ground, but she was swiftly repelled by Mezo. In the course of the Kamino Incident, Himiko, along with Twice and Mr. Compress, forced Katsuki Bakugo on the defensive, before he was rescued by his classmates, and the League of Villains were transported away by All For One. Later on, Himiko, under the guise of Camie Utsushimi, proved to be a contender in the Provisional Hero License Exam, in spite of its strict competition, given she was able to employ sneak attacks to blindside Izuku, one of U.A. High School's most powerful students, and pass the first phase without needing it to be her priority. Himiko's abilities garnered the attention of Overhaul, who wanted her to play a role in the upcoming Shie Hassaikai Raid. When the raid started, she was able to defeat the Pro Hero Rock Lock, and temporarily misdirect the rest of the Nighteye Squad before revealing herself. Himiko used her swiftness to surprise Izuku with knife attacks, and then use Eraser Head's Capturing Weapon against the Pro Hero by rolling herself in it, and stab him in the shoulder once she got in close, all before the Erasure Hero could restrain her. Come winter, the League of Villains engaged the Meta Liberation Army at the Revival Celebration, wherein Himiko faced Curious, one of the M.L.A's leaders, and her group of followers. The bout began with Himiko slashing that throat of one of the Curious' soldiers, and vanished from sight to get the drop on Curious herself, only for the adolescent to be sent crashing through a store window. When faced with 4 M.L.A members, Himiko subdued them with her needles to suck their blood but was heavily injured due to Curious detonating the siphoned blood with her Landmine Quirk. A battered Himiko was barraged by many M.L.A members until she attempted another attack on Curious, only to wind up injured even further by the publicist's Curious Flattener. Overwhelmed, Himiko tried to flee from the Liberation Army forces pursuing her, but just as Curious was about to finish off the serial killer, Himiko undergoes an Awakening, causing her Transform to evolve to where she can use the Quirks of the people into whom she's transformed, signified when she unexpectedly accessed Ochaco's Zero Gravity to make Curious levitate. With this inflated power, Himiko proceeded to swiftly tap each of Chitose's followers to make them float before any of them could react, and release them, along with Curious herself, killing off Himiko's assailants. After the Revival Celebration, Himiko became a lieutenant of the now unified Paranormal Liberation Front. Himiko is very proficient with knives, which she uses along with her enhanced agility. She stabs her enemies at a close distance or throws her blades from a considerable distance. She even incapacitated Rock Lock before stabbing him unconscious. Himiko's Quirk grants her the ability to transform into a physical lookalike of another individual, as well as copy their voice. She can only transform into people whose blood she has ingested. The more blood she drinks, the longer she has access to that person's form. For example, 1 cup of blood lets her transform for a total of 18 hours. She can switch between the appearances of multiple people if she drinks the blood of more than one person. She can even duplicate a person's clothing, though, her own clothes would overlap the transformation, requiring her to get naked beforehand. Upon deactivating her Quirk or switching to another disguise, Himiko's disguise melts into a gray viscous liquid. During her fight with Curious and her soldiers, Himiko's Quirk underwent an Awakening, giving her the ability to use the Quirks of the people into whom she's transformed, something that she was previously incapable of doing. Although, Himiko can only use another person's Quirk if she is fascinated by that person and holds that person close to her heart, and she must have sufficient information on their power.

Dabi

Toya Todoroki is a major antagonist in the My Hero Academia manga and anime series. He is the eldest son of Pro Hero Endeavor, driven insane due to his neglectful actions, faking his death and becoming a villain as revenge. He became affiliated with the League of Villains, a former member of the organization's since disbanded Vanguard Action Squad, and later one of the nine lieutenants of the Paranormal Liberation Front. Alongside his teammates, he serves as one the main antagonists in the Forest Training Camp Arc, Pro Hero Arc, and Paranormal Liberation War Arc. Having been trained by his father, Endeavor, at a young age, and undergoing rigorous self-training, Dabi has proven to be a powerful villain, being one of the strongest members of the League of Villains' Vanguard Action Squad, as well as its de facto leader. After joining the League, Dabi has killed over thirty people, garnering a reputation as a dangerous criminal and a mass murderer.

Dabi has an effective handle on his powerful, yet hazardous Quirk, which not only grants him control over his self-generated blue flames that are stronger than normal flames, due to hating his father, but also proficient wide-range capabilities. Dabi primarily fights from a distance, shooting fireballs, generating flamethrower attacks, and releasing bursts of fire when at close range. His basic offense is using the brute force of his Quirk to overwhelm his enemies. Defensively, Dabi can burn away attacks and even generate massive walls of fire to surround his targets. With this skill and power, he can incinerate an entire group of opponents in mere seconds. Overall, Dabi has the capacity and ingenuity to contend with a multitude of adversaries who outnumber him. The immense capabilities of Dabi's Quirk allowed him to repel the Bakugo Escort squad during the Vanguard Action Squad Invasion, fight off multiple Meta Liberation Army members and emerge unscathed, as well as extensively fight on par with Geten, one of the MLA's strongest members. He even completely overpowered Hawks, the No. 2 Hero, primarily due to pyrokinetics being major weakness to Hawks' Fierce Wings. These feats are proven to be even more impressive as Dabi never relied on his Flashfire techniques in any of these encounters. Dabi's Quirk finesse also enables him to fly and hover in the air much like his father and youngest brother. In the Paranormal Liberation War, Dabi began utilizing his father's Flashfire Fist techniques in combat and was not only able to instantly burn through Best Jeanist's Carbon Fibers, but effortlessly dominated Shoto (also using Flashfire Fist) in a battle of flames. The disparity in their abilities was so great, Dabi could hold back and defeat Shoto with a single Jet Burn, without killing him. Dabi's Quirk grants him the ability to generate highly destructive blue flames from his body. He has very well-developed control of his flames and can project them a fair distance from himself and in large amounts. Furthermore, his flames possess greater firepower than that of his father, Endeavor's, Hellflame Quirk, and they become even stronger when Dabi feels strong emotions. However, Dabi's body has a low tolerance for his own flames, due to inheriting his mother's resistance to freezing temperatures, rather than his father's resistance to high heat, and he will get burned if he uses them for prolonged periods of time.

Tomura Shigaraki

Tomura Shigaraki is the primary antagonist of the My Hero Academia manga and anime series. He is the leader of the League of Villains, making his first major appearance as one of the main antagonists of the U.S.J. Arc. He was raised by his master, All For One, with the goal to kill All Might, the "Symbol of Peace," and ultimately destroying the society he represents. He soon merged his organization and the Meta Liberation Army to form the Paranormal Liberation Front, becoming its Grand Commander and later inheriting the All For One Quirk. He's currently fighting for control over his body against All For One, as the two vestiges begin to merge into a new being. Tomura is known to be the most powerful villain in Japan if not the world, surpassing that of All For One himself, contending with Pro Heroes in combat thanks to his physical and analytical skills. As the leader of the League of Villains, Tomura has total command over his powerful subordinates. During the U.S.J. Incident, Tomura had the mettle to briefly take on the formidable Pro Hero Eraser Head, and successfully use his Decay Quirk on the Erasure Hero's right arm.

Tomura was even confident that he could take down Izuku, Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugo, and Eijiro Kirishima, four extremely powerful U.A. High School students, although at the time, didn't know the full extent of the quartet's abilities. Tomura was capable of battling Gigantomachia for half a month, not giving up until he is able to make the behemoth submit. When he faced Re-Destro, and his left hand was partially destroyed, Tomura's prowess had been suddenly enhanced to levels beyond his natural parameters. According to Re-Destro, if Tomura had his newly increased physical parameters during the Kamino Incident, he would've easily taken out at least one or two of the Pro Heroes during that event, even without his Decay Quirk.[ After a fierce battle, he was not only able to defeat Re-Destro to gain control of the latter's army, but also tame Gigantomachia with his accomplishment. Similar to his master, Tomura's aura is able to instill fear into others, and his mere gaze was enough to paralyze Trumpet's followers, who were under the influence of Incite and given orders to eliminate Tomura. This was seen again when he encountered Izuku and Katsuki, with his mere presence being powerful enough to instill hallucinations of death into both teenagers. After Kyudai Garaki conducts body modifications to Tomura, his overall abilities have surpassed all of the Pro-Heroes to the point where his powers are on par with Toshinori Yagi when the latter had One For All. Due to his immense power Tomura eventually grew to be feared worldwide due to being able to kill the immensely powerful Star and Stripe one of the world's top heroes. Tomura's Quirk allows him to disintegrate whatever he touches with all five fingers. It will take effect whether the target is organic or not. The disintegration spreads quickly and will spread through the victim's whole body if they don't amputate the decaying body part. His Quirk can even spread beyond what he's touching, allowing him to disintegrate large groups of enemies instantly. Because the Quirk has to touch a solid object in order to be activated, it is possible to counter it through manipulation of fluids or particles, such as Snatch's sand body. The most characteristic element of Tomura's costume is a set of fourteen disembodied hands, covering his upper body and face. These hands are the remnants of his family, which he accidentally killed when his Decay Quirk manifested for the first time. The main hand on his face is called "Father". The hands were recovered and preserved by Kyudai Garaki, returning them to Tomura when he was rescued by All For One. An additional two sets of hands from two hoodlums were added to his villain costume. They have no other function than help Tomura's mind, who confesses that his hands make him feel calm and at peace, although also cause nausea. During his battle with Re-Destro, all but one of the hands got destroyed and Tomura himself would end up destroying his father's hand that had covered his face as a way to liberate himself from the past. He would wear the remaining hand as his trademark mask, which was later revealed as Nana Shimura's hand. All For One would then use the hand as a way to fully gain control of Tomura's body, as the calming hatred he feels when wearing it gives him more control.

Zenon Zogratis

Zenon Zogratis is a member of the Spade Kingdom's Dark Triad and the host of the devil Beelzebub. Zenon uses this magic attribute to generate and manipulate his own bones. He typically releases massive tangles of bones that offer no openings for his enemies to evade and are sharp like spears, allowing him to brutally skewer his opponents. He can increase these bones' regeneration for defensive purposes, repairing them faster than they can be destroyed. He can also shape the bones into weapons to wield by hand, like a sword. After unleashing 100% of his devil's power, he switches to powerful and swift bone whips that have been noted to possess greater attack power and regeneration speed. Zenon uses this rare magic attribute to manipulate space. His version of this magic attribute involves creating spatial cubes that allow him to dominate and negate the mana trapped within them. The cubes can vary in size and number. As a devil host, Zenon possesses an immense amount of magic power. With little effort, he defeats a Diamond Kingdom army that includes two of the Eight Shining Generals, and later William Vangeance, a Magic Knight captain. His displays of power terrify the normally battle-seeking Luck Voltia and the powerful Sylph, the spirit of wind. As a member of the Dark Triad, Zenon is host to one of the highest-ranking devils, Beelzebub, who grants him immense power.

When he was a child, he was recognized to have a greater aptitude for Devil power than Dante or Vanica. He can use up to 80% of his devil's power; after the first gate to the underworld opens, Zenon is able to access 100%. The more power he draws on, the more devil-like his appearance becomes. At 55% of his devil's power, Zenon effortlessly defeats the four-leaf-clover, spirit-assimilated vice-captain of Golden Dawn. Due to being devil-possessed, Zenon has the ability to use both his own Bone Magic and Beelzebub's Spatial Magic. After a making a new bargain with Beelzebub, Zenon obtains the heart of a devil, effectively turning him into a devil. His magic power also becomes more devil-like. In his devil form, Zenon can utilize offensive Spatial Magic, alongside his other space-based spells. Zenon combines his Bone Magic with Beelzebub's Spatial Magic. Zenon's massive magic power increases even further. Due to his devil heart, Zenon is capable of surviving and regenerating from otherwise fatal injuries. Zenon possesses a spade grimoire that contains various bone-based magic spells. Zenon is extremely merciless. He does not seem to talk much, preferring to settle disputes with his magic power. He believes that emotion and tenacity mean nothing when compared to absolute power and that such weaknesses should be discarded. A facet of Zenon's personality seems to be his devotion and loyalty for his home kingdom of Spade. He is highly meticulous and determined to acquire more power to add to the Spade Kingdom's war force. He goes as far as invading the Clover Kingdom and directly attacking the Golden Dawn's base for the sole purpose of obtaining an Arcane Stage mage for his kingdom's military. However, beneath Zenon's typically cold and serious disposition lies a bloodthirsty individual. He coldly insults the defeated and brutalized members of the Golden Dawn and belittles his own subordinates as useless upon their defeats. He later looks down on and grins as he viciously attacks Yuno and that all of his actions are for the sake of the Spade Kingdom's glory. Unlike Dante and Vanica who love fighting against strong opponents to the point of either prolonging their battle or letting them live to become stronger, Zenon will instead quickly eliminate threats to their plans as he "killed" Yuno Grinberryall who managed to damage him and tried to kill Asta who has Anti Magic. Zenon is a tall man with black, messy hair. His most notable feature is a black, cross-shaped mark on the left side of his forehead and it extends down across his left eye. Zenon wears a black shirt with a high collar and black pants that tuck into brown boots. Additionally, he wears a dark blue fur coat with a short, light gray fur mantle on top. The back of the mantle is emblazoned with a spade symbol. When using his devil's power, the mantle becomes dark-colored. When using 55% of his devil's power, Zenon sprouts a pair of slightly curved horns from the top of his head and bat-like wings from his back, and the marking on his face expands. A dark-colored magic covers over half of his body, including the left horn and wing. After Zenon unleashes 100% of his devil's power, his full body is covered in black, including both horns and wings. Armor created from Bone Magic covers his chest in the form of a ribcage, bony appendages sprout from his back, his shoulders, forearm, hands as well as legs gets covered with bone armor, a helmet-like accessory fashioned from bone covers his left horn as well as half his face, the cross mark expands to the right part of his face and a second set of smaller horns appears on his forehead and he grows a whip-like tail with a trident-shaped tip.

Vanica Zogratis

Vanica Zogratis is a member of the Spade Kingdom's Dark Triad and the host of the devil Megicula. Vanica is an enthusiastic individual who enjoys doing flashy things for her own amusement. She hates being bored and is prone to jealousy. She likes to fight people who are in good condition because she believes that it is more fun than fighting weaker opponents. She derides weaker opponents as "trash" and instead desires to battle incredibly powerful opponents, such as Lolopechka, in order to mitigate her sense of boredom. She fully supports Dante Zogratis's plan to create the Tree of Qliphoth, which will summon legions of devils into the world and bring about massive human casualties and catastrophic destruction, because it would weed out the weak from humanity and allow her to fight the strong survivors for her own amusement.

Despite her love of fighting strong opponents, she does not always remember the opponents that she had already fought against and defeated in the past right away due to her one track desire to only pursue her present and future pleasures, but her being pushed to her limits again will help jog her memory. Vanica also possesses the same inhumane demeanor and disposition as her fellow Dark Triad members. Without hesitation, she orders her subordinates to kill and slaughter the citizens of the Heart Kingdom and has them focus their attacks in the densely populated areas of the Kingdom for the sole purpose of further motivating her true target to fight her more seriously. She also takes hostages in order to motivate her desired opponents to grow stronger to fight her for her future entertainment. Vanica is callous toward and dismissive of her devoted followers. When they express thanks for reviving them, she considers their words to be nonsense and is completely untouched by their immense loyalty and reverence to her. She is willing to hurt and dispose of them to serve her own ends, having sacrificed over a hundred Dark Disciples. Vanica is a woman with medium-length, black hair. Her most notable feature is an eyepatch that covers her right eye and is emblazoned with a gold spade symbol. Vanica wears a high-collared, brown vest and matching short skirt. She has a wide, black belt buckled at her waist and hangs her grimoire pouch off of it in the back. She also has a pair of belts forming an X on her chest. A third belt wraps around her skirt. Over this, she wears a dark blue fur coat with a short, white fur mantle on top. She also wears a pair of thigh-high, brown boots and a gold tiara with five spikes and red jewels at the base of each spike. When using 50% of Megicula's power, Vanica sprouts a pair of curved horns from the top of her head and bat-like wings from her back. A marking expands out from under her eyepatch, and her right canine teeth elongate. A dark-colored magic covers half of her body, including the right horn and wing. When she reaches 70%, more of her body is covered, and a light-colored symbol appears on her chest. She grows a tail and its tip has a similar shape to the symbol on her chest. When she reaches 100%, her whole body is covered in black, with her chest and thighs covered in a lighter shade of black. Her horns become completely black, two additional smaller pointed horns appear on her forehead, her eyepatch is covered in black, blood is flowing in the same shape of her right eye in the same spot, her nails become longer and significantly sharper, the part of her leg under her thigh is donned with a black boot, her waist is covered in a short dress, she grows fangs, a black crown sits on the top of her head and she grows a pair of black wings. When Megicula takes control of Vanica's body, the hair on Vanica's right lightens in color, her right pupil becomes slit-like, and a black mark appears around her left eye. The mark is a circle with several dots along its length.

Dante Zogratis

Dante Zogratis is a member of the Spade Kingdom's Dark Triad and the host of the devil Lucifero. Dante seems to be a calm and easygoing individual. Even in the face of a surprising turn of events, he does not lose his cool. He is rather manipulative and will do anything as long as he gets his way. He pushes Asta to the extreme by harming Gauche. He believes that evil is the true nature of humanity and the world is too dull because of not enough people being willing to give in to it. Therefore, he considers being called evil a compliment, and encourages other people to embrace their malice, as it is a supreme emotion only humans have. On top of this, he tends to give a satisfying smile when others embrace their "humanity". Dante is extremely possessive as he bluntly declares Vanessa Enoteca to be his woman after being impressed by her magic that can alter fate.

When Vanessa uses her magic in an attempt to save Asta, Dante becomes extremely enraged that she would use her power for anyone else but him, showing a lack of care or respect for her as a person with her own will. This is further evidenced by declaring Grey as his woman as well, after seeing her display arcane level magic. Dante thinks lowly of people who have very little mana. He seems to enjoy fighting, as he maintains a wide smile on his face going up against Asta and Yami. Dante is a tall man with green eyes and black, combed-back hair and noticeable facial hair. His most notable feature is a black mark that runs along the entirety of his forehead. He also has a large scar from his left shoulder to his right hip where Asta slashed him with Yami's katana. Dante wears a black shirt with a high collar, a brown jacket, and a dark blue fur cape with a short white fur mantle on top. His black pants are tucked into a pair of black, knee-high boots. Two black belts wrap around his waist, and a third crosses from his left shoulder to his right hip. The belt around his waist has the Spade Kingdom insignia on the buckle. He also wears a gold crown with tall spikes and red inset jewels. While using 50% of his devil's power, a black substance forms a pair of curved horns from the his temples and a pair of bat-like wings from his back, and covers his mantle and chest. His irises change color, and his pupils become vertical slits. The marking on his face expands with the vertical lines extending up into his hairline and down over his eyes to his cheeks. When he reaches 80% of his devil's power, two more horns appear on his forehead. The black substance covers half of his face and most of his body. He grows a tail with a tip that has a similar shape to the symbol on his chest, and a second set of wings grow from lower on his back. After Dante reaches 100%, the dark-colored substance covers most of his body. The second set of wings on his back and set of horns on his forehead grows. A fracture-like pattern appears on lower of his wings and goes from the center of the mark on his body. Two long lines appear on the length of his limbs and horns. The light-colored substance forms another mark on his face, similar to one he has when using 50% of Lucifero's power. A black substance covers his crown entirely, making it seem fused to his head. His ears also become pointed. While serving as a soldier in the Spade Kingdom's military, Dante wears the standard soldier uniform. He has no facial hair or mark on his forehead.

Nacht Faust

Nacht Faust is a former nobleman of House Faust, the vice-captain of the Clover Kingdom's Black Bull squad of the Magic Knights, and a devil host. He spends several years working as a spy within the Spade Kingdom. Nacht uses this magic attribute to manipulate shadows. He is able to slip in and out of the shadows of other people and things, immobilize people who step into shadows, and physically restrain people with shadows. Nacht combines his Shadow Magic with Yami Sukehiro's Dark Magic. The two magic attributes continuously synergize and strengthen each other. Nacht possesses tremendous levels of physical endurance, as shown when he continues to fight two highest-ranking devils after being pierced with multiple needles of burning ice.

As a nobleman and the vice-captain of the Black Bull squad, Nacht possesses a large amount of magic power. He can increase his magic power by using his devils' power. Nacht is host to four mid-ranking devils who grant him power: Gimodelo, Slotos, Plumede, and Walgner. He uses four relics linked to the devils to temporarily summon them into the living world, either as large masked beasts or as small familiars. He can also merge with their larger forms, allowing him to access the power of Unite. As he has four devils to perform Unite with, he has at least four different Unite Modes, with each mode giving his magic an additional effect or ability to use in battle. Nacht can control all the mana in an area around him to increase his spells' power and range. Nacht possesses a grimoire that contains various shadow-based magic spells. Nacht carries four relics that are connected to his four devils: a feather, two claws or fangs, and a braid of hair. Nacht is a pragmatic and logical person. He knows that Asta has no chance of saving Yami from the Dark Triad alone. He believes that losing a fight is the loser's own fault and considers losers to be idiots. Nacht is not shy about expressing whether or not he likes someone. He is also unafraid of expressing his dislike of all the Magic Knight captains to their faces. He has a very specific ideology about what determines good and bad; something is only good if it is good from the start, where as something bad that becomes good, though a pleasant surprise, is still ultimately bad. Nacht believes that doing good does not make up for past wrongs. This belief likely stems from his inability to forgive himself for his actions.

Yami Sukehiro

Yami Sukehiro is a foreigner from the Hino Country and the first captain of the Clover Kingdom's Black Bull squad of the Magic Knights. He is also a former member of the Grey Deer squad. Yami uses this rare magic attribute to generate and manipulate the element of darkness. He primarily uses this magic by channeling it into his katana. This magic has the ability to draw in other forms of magic, namely Light Magic, absorbing it into the darkness and can even affect the other world. Due to his Dark Magic's ability to affect the other world naturally, Yami is ranked as an Arcane Stage mage. Yami uses this form of magic to increase his physical abilities. It also allows him to make up for the slow speed of his Dark Magic. His skill is great enough to remain standing under the immense pressure of Dante Zogratis's devil-boosted Gravity Magic. Yami uses this form of magic to restrain his opponents with darkness. Yami combines his Dark Magic with Nacht Faust's Shadow Magic. Dark and Shadow go very well together, and continuously synergize and strengthen each other. Yami has described himself as a magic swordsman. He is extremely skilled in swordsmanship; he easily fights on par with Patolli, the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun, with nothing but swordplay in conjunction with his Dark Magic, destroying the surrounding environment.

Yami naturally possesses tremendous physical strength which he further increases with magic. He easily throws Asta a considerable distance with just one hand. Using ki, Yami can predict and react to attacks that others cannot keep up with and nonchalantly counters these attacks without having to turn around. By combining Mana Zone with Ki-sensing, Yami can react to his opponents' movements before they make them, similar to Julius's future-seeing ability, though he states that it is not on Julius's level. Yami is an extremely durable fighter, remaining unfazed when hit by Patolli's light blades, and emerges completely unscathed at his attempted cave in. His amount of durability let him still attack and remain standing after being hit by a huge pillar of stone created by Dante Zogratis. Yami is extremely fast, able to keep up with and surprise someone as fast as Patolli with his speed. When Lotus Whomalt attempts to launch a surprise attack on William Vangeance, despite having to climb a massive tree, Yami arrives just in time to intercept him. He is also capable of dodging Marx's elf-enhanced arrows that are faster than normal. His enhanced reflexes from Mana Zone and Ki-sensing, as well as the power boost from Mana Zone, allow Yami to dodge devil-enhanced attacks for a short time. As a captain of a Magic Knights squad, Yami possesses an immense amount of magic power, which is greater than all commoners and nobles, with only very powerful Clover royals, the strongest of elves, and high-ranking devils surpassing him in this regard. Anti-birds flee as soon as they realize his presence, and the slightest release of his power intimidates multiple people. After Yami blocks and counters Patolli, Valtos wonders if the captain could rival the Magic Emperor. Gifso, the High Priest of the Seabed Temple, acknowledges Yami as being too powerful for his game. When watching his squad fight to the brink of death, he surpasses his limits to escape Abari's Different Dimension Sphere and becomes powerful enough to easily defeat Vetto. Julius Novachrono states that Yami has grown more powerful after he returns to the kingdom. During the Qliphoth Advent Ritual, Yami's body is altered, which Grey compares to Asta's devil-possession. Because of this, his body is overflowing with magic power. A principle originating from his homeland, this skill allows Yami to use a sixth sense to perceive and react to unseen attacks and persons. Yami can control all the mana in an area around him to increase his spells' power and range, and to stand and maneuver in midair. Yami possesses a three-leaf clover grimoire that contains various darkness-based spells. In combat, Yami uses a katana, a type of sword from his homeland, the Hino Country. As such, he has to have the sword custom-made. It is broken by Vetto during their first encounter but replaced with a brand new one afterwards. During their fight with Dante, Yami lends his katana to Asta, and he coats it in Anti Magic. Afterward, the sword is stored in Asta's grimoire. Yami possesses a small device that allows him to communicate with the members of his squad. It can only transmit audio. A wooden sword created by William Vangeance, it is filled with World Tree Magic. Yami wields it in the fight against Lucifero. Yami is uncouth, reckless, slightly hypocritical, and prone to delivering death threats at the slightest provocation. Nevertheless, he is a powerful and well-respected Magic Knight who was able to recognize Asta's merits when none of the other Captains would give him a chance. He is typically a stoic man who believes more in actions than in words. He is very hot-headed, who can be easily angered by small matters such as being bumped by another person or interrupted when talking. Yami also has a penchant for intimidation whether he uses threatening words or physically harms his target. He also tends to immediately go straight for a more physical solution to any problems or confrontations, such as when he destroys a part of the squad's headquarters to calm his subordinates. Despite being very bull-headed, reckless, and unrefined, Yami is an experienced and perceptive warrior, picking apart his opponent's strategies with a glance and is constantly trying to come up with counters for them. Furthermore, he also prefers instilling tough love to his subordinates by giving them dangerous missions. He believes that it is the best way for them to overcome their limits and grow stronger. Yami also does not discriminate people according to their social status or circumstances where he is willing to accept Luck Voltia, Noelle Silva, and Asta to join his ranks, even though he is aware of each of their problems. His concern for them is likely tied to his own circumstances, being treated as an outcast in his youth like they are.

Noelle Silva

Noelle Silva is a noblewoman and the second daughter of the Clover Kingdom's House Silva, one of its royal families. She is also a 3rd Class Junior Magic Knight of the Black Bull and Royal Knights squads. Undine, the spirit of water, chooses to serve Noelle after her contract with Princess Lolopechka is temporarily weakened. Noelle uses this magic attribute to generate and manipulate water. She primarily uses this magic to shoot waterballs toward her opponents. Noelle uses the Heart Kingdom's magic technique and natural mana to generate and manipulate real water. Noelle uses this form of magic to shape objects and entities from water. Noelle uses this form of magic to increase her physical abilities. Noelle uses this form of magic to summon a spirit that can assist her in battle. She uses this magic to summon Undine, the water spirit. With this magic, she is a Saint Stage mage. As a royal, Noelle possesses an immense amount of magic power. It is large enough to create a giant sphere of water and waterspout and to shake the whole Seabed Temple. Channeling this power into her offensive spells, she can even challenge elves. She has difficulty controlling her magic power, which is shown from her attacks' lack of accuracy. She has begun learning better control and can restrain her power at will. Noelle is ranked as a First Stage mage.

After training in the Heart Kingdom, Noelle has learned to use the country's unique magic technique to increase the size and power of her Water Magic spells. Noelle wields a three-leaf clover grimoire that she uses to amplify her water-based magics. It has a cream-colored cover with intricate borders and a three-leaf clover insignia at the center of the front cover. Noelle wields a wand that she uses to help her control her magical power. This slender brown rod has a rounded tip and a round cut jewel set in the base. The wand's body also has a twisted design at the middle and gold ornaments at the top and the base of the handle. Noelle purchases a magical brooch from Dominante Code, and within it lives a magical lifeform, Bruce, who assists Noelle in improving her magic control. After Bruce dies, the brooch is reshaped and attached to the base of Noelle's wand. Noelle possesses a small device that allows her to communicate with the Magic Knights headquarters. It can send both audio and visual transmissions. Having been born into the royal family, Noelle can seem arrogant and vain. This can be seen when she denies Asta's act of friendship while proclaiming that she has not given him permission to talk to her. This also causes her to have difficulty admitting her failures, as she often tries to find excuses or blames her mistakes on somebody else. After finally coming out of her difficulties in admitting her mistakes, Noelle can also be seen as very reserved on expressing her delight over her achievements where she would rather suppress those feelings and shows her usual stern expression. She has a supposedly high sense of taste for items, as can be seen when she says that Magna Swing's broom is lame. However, due to having been rejected by her own family who had noticed her lack of control over her Magic Power, Noelle developed a slight inferiority complex to her more accomplished brothers and sister. This inferiority complex leads Noelle to try and prove them wrong to the point where she will overexert herself during training. Additionally, she is skeptical of the people around her since she expects them to react the same way that her family did. She is also rather modest, as she is mortified when she realizes her shirt is torn, showing her breasts slightly after the dungeon mission and is also slightly embarrassed wearing her bikini at the beach. Because of the Black Bulls' influence, notably Asta's, Noelle slowly begins to have more confidence in herself. This gives birth to a more courageous side where she is even willing to go against opponents like Vetto and her own brother, Solid. Kahono points out a reason that Noelle lacked magic control comes from her desire to not hurt anyone. This reveals that despite Noelle's shortcomings, she is a kind person which sets her apart from most nobles. Another aspect that sets her apart from other nobles is how she's less prejudiced towards commoners which was shown during the Star Awards Festival where she comforts a child and declares everyone should enjoy the celebration regardless of status. This confidence, courage, and kindness shapes Noelle a strong resolve to protect those she cares for, which creates a more selfless side to her personality. While her personality improves, her nobility and pride causes her to not always be honest with herself. The biggest example is her growing feelings towards Asta and how she tries to deny them.

Yuno Grinberryall

Yuno Grinberryall is an orphan who was left under the care of a church in Hage after the downfall of House Grinberryall, the former royal family of the Spade Kingdom. He wields a four-leaf clover grimoire and is a Magic Knight of the Clover Kingdom's Golden Dawn and Royal Knights squads. He is later promoted to vice-captain of the Golden Dawn. Sylph, the spirit of wind, chooses to serve Yuno after he finds her scroll in a dungeon. He is also the human vessel for the reincarnated spirit of Licht and Tetia's son. As the rightful heir to the throne of the Spade Kingdom, Yuno possesses a tremendous amount of magic power, as shown when not a single anti-bird flies around him during the Magic Knights entrance exam. His large reserves allow him to cast two different spells at the same time with ease. He easily fights on par with two of the Diamond Kingdom's Eight Shining Generals and defeats one of them. His magic power increases greatly while being possessed by an elf. He develops his skills and power and achieves the rank of Stage Zero. Yuno possesses the ability to sense mana from his surroundings. In addition, he can see the flow of mana in the form of a flock of winged beings.

Yuno can control all the mana in the area around him to increase his spells' power and range. He often uses this ability to generate spells behind his opponents, catching them by surprise. By combining Mana Zone with his refinement of Mana Skin, Yuno merges with Sylph and a vast amount of mana, increasing his magic power and transforms himself. The increase in power allows him to match that of Rill, a Magic Knights Captain but loses to Zenon Zogartis, a Dark Triad, using 55% of his devil's power. With further training and Sylph's help, the transformation is more complete, and Yuno is able to overpower Zenon at 80% but is pushed back at 100%. Due to being the host of the human-elf hybrid, Yuno possesses two mana affinities: Wind Magic and Star Magic. Yuno possesses a four-leaf clover grimoire that contains various wind-based spells, which he receives in the acceptance ceremony after he turns 15 years old. His grimoire has a gold-colored cover, the gold-colored four-leaf clover insignia at the center of the front cover and intricate ornaments around the borders. Yuno also possesses a spade grimoire that contains various star-based spells. He receives this grimoire after crashing into a grimoire tower in the Spade Kingdom. Yuno possesses a small device that allows him to communicate with the members of his squad. It can only transmit audio. Yuno has a calm and emotionless demeanor and speaks only when he really needs to convey his thoughts. His manner of speaking often makes people misinterpret what he means. Despite his detached nature, Yuno harbors a strong ambition to be the Magic Emperor, which he developed while growing up with Asta. Additionally, Yuno has a sense of rivalry with him so strong that he will go to any length to stop anyone who tries to put Asta in harm's way. He also goes out of his way to make Asta look good in the eyes of others, even to the point of Asta's expense, such as when he attacked Asta with his most powerful magic, knowing Asta would block it. Yuno is also known to be very blunt and not hold back what he thinks. Because he spent most of his childhood living with Asta, Yuno possesses similar traits as he does. One is his tenacity and will to never give up, both of which he learned from training together with Asta in their early days. Also like Asta, Yuno has proven himself to be both very stubborn and passionate when he it comes to his goals, and is not afraid to stand his ground against anyone who stands against him. Unlike Asta however, Yuno is not so quick to lose his calm composure in battle, which sometimes leads to him showing a more quiet, yet intense nature of himself. In contrast with his current personality, Yuno used to be more of a crybaby who could not stand up for himself. He started to change after Asta saved him while showing his dream and determination. Also in contrast with his personality, Yuno has been shown to be surprisingly protective of the people he views as allies, friends and comrades. This protectiveness however has been misinterpreted by some as arrogance. Yuno has also shown himself to be very considerate and conventional at times, like when he protected Charmy from danger, then afterwards accepted her snack out of both nourishment and kindness.

Asta

Asta is an orphan raised under the care of a church in Hage after his mother abandons him on the church's doorstep. After turning 15 years old, Asta receives a five-leaf clover grimoire with an Anti Magic devil inside. He joins the Clover Kingdom's Black Bull squad of the Magic Knights and becomes a 3rd Class Junior Magic Knight and temporarily a Royal Knight. Asta uses this unique energy to nullify magic. Despite not having the ability to use magic, Asta's control over his Anti Magic energy, as well as the very uniqueness of this power itself has earned him the rank of an Arcane Stage mage. Asta initially has a rough style due to having an unconventional sword and having only received basic training from Fanzell Kruger. Over time he develops greater skill through battle experience, additional swords, and ki-sensing, as well as learning from his multiple battles alongside and against other magic swordsmen. sta possesses no mana and so is unable to use magic. This enables Asta to wield Anti Magic without suffering the weakening effects since he has no magic to drain. This also makes him undetectable to mana-sensors, and immune to the life-draining substance of the underworld. As a wielder of a five-leaf clover grimoire, Asta is connected to Liebe, who possesses Anti Magic, which grants him access to this energy. The more power he draws on, the more devil-like his appearance becomes. Asta agrees to a bargain with Liebe: his right arm in exchange for more of his power. This increase in power enables him to negate a Gravity Singularity and to coat additional weapons in Anti Magic; however, he is limited to 50 seconds of usage. After undergoing the Devil-Binding Ritual, Asta forges a contract with Liebe to share power as equals, and after training for a couple of days, Asta and Liebe learn to Unite, which greatly enhances their Anti Magic abilities. However, their union has not been perfected yet and the transformation only lasts for about 5 minutes. Afterwards, Asta experiences excruciating full-body pain and must wait 30 minutes before he can use Unite or his black form again. However, if Asta is forced out of Union mode prematurely, then he and Liebe can pick up where they left off and enter Union again for however much time they had left. As time elapses, the crossbars of the star on his chest expand into circles, indicating how much time he has left in the form.

Asta generally is cheerful and hyperactive. He tends to shout to express his thoughts and goals, much to the annoyance of some of those around him, and often in spite of other people's opinions. One of the first examples of this is when he conveyed his goal of becoming a Magic Emperor during the Magic Knights entrance exam, and told other people who jeered at him to be quiet. Asta's simple yet outgoing personality is frequently played to comedic effect during more serious situations. However, his strong tenacity interests Yami Sukehiro enough to recruit him into his ranks, and his determination also leads him to possess an indomitable will. Asta's determination to never give up, added with his own steel fortitude during grueling or harsh battles, is a trait that becomes the basis for others to acknowledge him, such as Magna Swing. However, Asta has shown to have struggled accepting his lack of magic, using his boisterous attitude as a front to hide his insecurity. After having his arms broken and cursed by Vetto, Asta nearly slips into a depression before talking and forcing himself to continue pushing onward. Because of his upbringing in the Forsaken region, Asta frequently receives cruel opinions and insults from almost everyone he meets. To counteract this, Asta appears to have developed a slightly sarcastic nature as he tries to defend himself. The regularity at which he's exposed to such degrading remarks is such that he now has a certain immunity to them, shown when he easily brushes them off without getting overly annoyed. However, Asta can still become irritated when others deeply insult his comrades; he will not hesitate to confront them as he tries to defend his friends.

Asta also has a very strong sense of justice, which is shown during his fight against Heath Grice, as he believes that everyone deserves to be protected. It is also not limited to only his comrades but his enemies as well, as noted when he asks his fellow squadmates to take the unconscious Mars along with them while the dungeon is collapsing. He argues that their mission is only to explore a dungeon as they are not ordered to kill any enemies. Therefore, Asta seems to see the positive side of everyone and never takes an insult too seriously, as seen when he still befriends both Yuno and Noelle Silva even after both had openly looked down on him. Even when Fana is trying to kill him and his allies with all her power, he attempts to reason with her as a means to understand and talk her down from her rage, showing consideration for nonviolent methods of solving conflict. He later continues to do this with the reincarnated elves, despite no success among repeated attempts. However, Asta also believes that those that have done wrong should work to actively make up for their wrongdoings. He always holds his enemies accountable for their misdeeds, regardless if he has forgiven them or not. He requests that Neige spend time in prison before promising to become his friend. He later demands that the weakened Ladros apologize to and help all the people he has harmed. In another example, he puts Rades into a submission hold during their next meeting, nearly breaking his arm until the latter successfully convinces him that he will use his powers to help the people in the capital rather than for revenge. His open, friendly, and non-judgmental attitude, indomitable will, and stubbornness has earned him the respect of almost everyone he meets, even nobles such as Klaus and Fuegoleon Vermillion. It has also earned him the affection of numerous girls, though his love for Sister Lily, combined with his somewhat dense personality, has made him largely oblivious of this fact. This love for Lily and obliviousness also make him somewhat chivalrous and non-perverted, as he absolutely refused to try to peek on the girls while bathing at the hot spring. While an immensely endearing and honest person, who can win over people with his tenacity, Asta can come off as quite stupid to those around him. Asta is not exactly stupid but growing up in an orphanage in the middle of nowhere has left him ignorant of many things that others consider common knowledge and his headstrong nature makes him come across as the stereotypical muscle head with little to no brains. His naivete constantly leads him to blurt out things with little to no tact or care for the situation at hand, and his blind trust of people in the kingdom despite evidence to the contrary has made him very easy to fool, depending on the situation. His trusting, truthful nature has been taken advantage of by the courts and he nearly spoke his guilt without thinking of the consequences while he was on trial. He is also very ignorant about many things in the kingdom and on its functions which Magic Knights should know with most of his squadmates is that he does not know many simple things such as how corrupt the system ruled by the nobles really is which almost cost him and Marie their lives.
