‘Frozen 2’ records biggest debut for an animated film ever

Disney fatigue was nowhere in sight as ‘Frozen 2′ just notched the biggest box office debut for an animated film ever. The follow-up to 2013’s Frozen scored $350 million at the global box office this weekend, surpassing the $245 million record held by another Disney flick, 2019’s The Lion King.

‘Frozen 2’ is projected to be the sixth Disney-helmed project to cross the billion-dollar mark this year, joining The Lion King, Avengers: Endgame, Toy Story 4, Incredibles 2, and Finding Dory. Disney movies have collectively earned $7.61 billion in 2019 alone, proving that Mickey Mouse owns our souls. Although labeled inferior to its predecessor, Frozen 2 still scored well with critics based on aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, noting that ‘it remains a dazzling adventure into the unknown’.

This Filipino cooking game lets you become a Lumpia master

Cooking games are one of the most addicting things to ever come out of the Internet. These glorified reflex exams have welded many butts to their seats for their fast-paced and adrenaline-fueled mechanics. Now, this phenom is about to get even more impossible to resist. 21-year-old game artist Ichicko has revealed a new cooking game with a Filipino twist called, ‘Taste of Home’. Players take on the role of Marcela, who travels around PH to master local dishes under the guide of her mentors.

There’s no mention yet on exactly what type of dishes we can expect, as the mobile app is still in the early development stages. But based on the teasers, the classic lumpiang ubod will be included, and possibly, sinigang. ‘Taste of Home’ is a thesis project made by students from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde as part of their game development course. It’ll be available for demo at the school’s Incendium exhibit this November 27-28. Ichicko says that the demo will be released to the general pvblic sometime in the future, along with a full game – if there’s enough demand for it.
